Great Couple + Fun Wedding - Andrea and Tyler

The Good Ol' Trolley Barn.  Great, casual place to have a wedding/reception.  Andrea chose this location because she wanted a laid back, have fun atmosphere.

I was pleased with this location and even more pleased with the arrival of this little fellow when I was setting up the wedding!  Nothing spells good luck like a ladybug landing on your bouquet!

The aisle was very simply dressed with green wraps on the end chairs.  A very budget-friendly yet neat and clever idea.  These chairs were then repurposed for the reserved tables.

 Andrea and her mother searched flea markets for these cute vintage hankies.

Andreas's dress is one of my all time favorites.  So simple, elegant, comfortable and a tiny bit sexy!

She requested a little photo frame charm of her doggie to be attached to her bouquet!



The blue hydrangeas and small sunflowers complemented the linen green dresses of the bridesmaids.

The groom's boutonniere of daisy, cornflower and tiny scabiosa buds wrapped with wire.

And yes, there was a bagpiper.

Guests were directed to their tables via hang tags identified with different European castles. 

The soy candles, the napkin rings and the table identifier frames were all made by Andrea or her mom!

A clever and simple, yet thoughtful detail.

 Some tables had floating cornflower, sunflower and daisies.

Others had submerged sunflowers and hydrangea. The water presence helped give a bit of a "cooling" atmosphere to the warm summer evening.

Personal garden

Dang! It's been a long time since I've posted! Been working hard and hope to have a bunch of photos soon. In the meantime, here are a few photos of what's growing in my garden...

Late summer, early fall wedding

Since most of my meetings lately are planning for late summer and early fall weddings, I thought I would post photos from one of my favorite "commitment ceremonies" I've done which was held during the hot month of August.

Each bride's bouquet was personalized with a small letter charm.

Zinnias are truly one of my favorite garden flowers. They look their best in late summer and early fall. I'm planting some this year in my yard - well, not some - a lot! They are vibrant, bright and happy flowers and perfect for arrangements and bouquets. And if mine look good enough, they will be locally grown!

Altar arrangements were large, glass vases filled with rosemary, sunflowers and new york crabapples. Yes, I ordered the crabapples from a new york orchard because local ones were a little past their prime.

Altar arrangements were then moved from the ceremony to the reception.

Megan and Amanda were the sweet couple that day and such a pleasure to work with. I also did the flowers for Amanda's sister's wedding. You can see her flowers back in my wedding gallery on my website (www.bloomfloraldesign.biz) under Becca and Sean.

I'm off to two more meetings today (at my favorite place). A late July wedding and a mid-September wedding. Hope someone wants zinnias!

Updating, Refreshing, Adding New

January and February are typically quite slow as far as wedding business goes. So, at this time I am working on updating my website, adding new wedding galleries, refreshing online photos, dabbling (!) in facebook, etc. etc. That was a sneak peak at a few photos that will soon be added to my website.

The wedding was that of Laura and Todd at the Houston Mill House. Gorgeous blue hydrangeas, red roses, orange gerbers, bold sunflowers and fresh rosemary added a bright and fragrant ambiance to the already beautiful location. (photos courtesy of Solstice Images)
