So, this wedding story starts with my friend, Lyn. That's her on the right. Her son, Lucas, and my son, Boyd are good friends that went through middle and high school together. They are great fishing buddies. Lyn and her husband own a lodge in Alaska where you can see bears, whales, bald eagles, glaciers, king salmon, and huge halibut. It is completely remote - as in you have to take a float plane from a small town nearby to get to the lodge. I have been there and can vouch that it is supremely beautiful. If you ever want to adventure in Alaska (perhaps for your honeymoon!), I can provide their information.
So.... Lyn's niece, Laura was getting married in Atlanta and we met in January for her October wedding. She had some great ideas for her ceremony and reception at The Cator Woolford Gardens.
I've done many weddings at this naturally beautiful venue.
Laura is extremely photogenic!

Laura's grandmother, Gami, attaches a handkerchief that was HER grandmother's to Laura's bouquet. She also attached a photo of Paul, Laura's stepfather, who had passed away a few years prior.
Bouquets of calla lilies, polo roses, astilbe, godetia, hypericum berries, stock, and freesia in a sweet combination of ivory and pinks.
Love the braid.
Tucked amongst the flowers above, you can see the spectacular engagement ring. An oval-cut emerald surrounded by diamonds. The emerald and diamonds were from Laura's mom's engagement ring from Paul which Eli recreated for Laura's "princess ring". A simple platinum wedding band completes the set.
Bridesmaids dresses were, of course, emerald green! Perfect in the garden.
Eli is quite the fine young fellow and wore a boutonniere of calla lily and hypericum berries.
Theirs was a Reform Jewish ceremony held under a birch tree chuppah draped with jessamine vine. The fabric for the chuppah was handsewn by Eli's mother, Nora, and represents the new couple's future home.

Now, my favorite photo from the wedding is this photoshopped gem of the wedding party running from Laura's cat, Balthazar, with laser eyes. Too funny!
The reception centerpieces were collections of emerald green glass vases and vessels filled with blooms in ivory and shades of pink.
The party moved upstairs to the Atrium after dinner for dancing and dessert.

In lieu of a wedding cake, Laura and Eli served Eli's mom's famous trifle.

A sparkly bubble exit and they are off to begin their marriage journey.
