Caitie & Grant at Brasstown Valley Resort // An Irish Affair

A wedding in the mountains of North Georgia.  In March.  March 17th to be exact because the bride and groom wanted to celebrate their Irish heritage.  It was a beautiful day, a beautiful location and the Irish Whiskey flowed and the jigs were plenty.

Brasstown Valley Resort  & Spa is a cute little collection of cabins and mountain resort dotting the rolling hills and valleys near Young Harris, Ga.  There is an 18 hole golf course, horseback riding, a day spa and serene mountain vistas.  It's also a great place to host a wedding weekend.

Caitie's bouquet consisted of white ranunculus, blue scabiosa, white stock, blue delphinium, emerald green hydrangea and italian ruscus.  The bright blue was stunning and a lovely contrast the greens.

Grant and his gentlemen were a lively crowd.

The groomsmen gifts were the first of its kind that I've ever seen.  Do not mess with this bunch.

The gun has a story of its own.  Grant built the old-fashioned revolver by hand with his Grandfather.  It was his desire to shoot the gun off on his wedding day to honor his grandfather's memory.

But, first the wedding ceremony.  Under a beautiful arbor that framed the mountain vistas, Caitie and Grant said their vows.  It was a bit windy and brisk but the fresh mountain air was a delight for guests.  A solo bagpiper signaled the start of the ceremony.

The shooting of the gun!  A first for a bloom floral design wedding!

How cool is that.  Here's to Grandfather!

And these photos by the bare tree - spectacular.

The reception was held under the covered pavilion with a roaring fire, lots of Irish whiskey, empty whiskey bottles filled with tiny white lights for centerpieces and collections of vases with blooms in of blue, green and white.

I think every type of Irish whiskey was represented in the table centerpieces.  Caitie & Grant look pretty professional doing the traditional Irish jig!

The shenanigans continued throughout the evening and ended with a beautiful ombre green cake and a Reese's peanut butter cup groom's cake.

S'mores were the perfect take home treat.

Words of wisdom filled a custom shamrock while cigars, of course, accompanied the whiskey drinking.

Cheers to Fun, Love and the Future for Caitie & Grant!
